How do I get licensed?

The fastest way to get licensed is to study the question pool, which is available for free on https://hamstudy.org/.

You do not have to make a hamstudy account but it’s recommended and useful if you want to keep track of your progress.

Newly licensed and don’t know what to do?

  • Get a free radio from QRZ: https://www.gigaparts.com/qrzjumpstart
  • Partake in some local San Diego nets: https://sites.google.com/view/ham-radio-exams/sd-nets?authuser=0
    • You don’t have to necessarily talk on these nets. Sometimes listening to other people through the nets gives you a feel for how to operate.
